Our Village

ArkASA

Arkasa was once the ancient city of "Arkesini.” Today, the village is where culture, traditions and heritage centuries-old are given renewed life by people who cherish our roots and take pride in sharing where we are from and who we are with others.

For the adventurer, wander up well-worn paths to explore traces of antiquity, including on the hill of Paleokastro/ancient acropolis, and stroll around remnants of the 5th century A.D., early Christian basilica of Saint Anastasia, where mosaics, columns and the chapel of Saint Sophia await you. Feel the Sun’s rays and immerse yourself in the Aegean’s rejuvenating and pristine waters on one of the island’s most iconic beaches, Saint Nicholas Arkasa.

Arkasa and Finiki, a fishing village just 2 km from Popi Studios, also boast authentic and traditional restaurants and tavernas, where you’ll find some of the island’s best cuisine, as well as coffee shops and cafe bars that merge tradition with contemporary Greek culture.

Amid stunning views and picturesque, flower-adorned pathways, you will find conveniences, such as supermarkets, ATMs, rental car/scooter locations and a pharmacy, as well as the people who call Arkasa home and extend our friendship and hospitality to you.

Karpathos

Defined by nature, shaped by history and enriched by its people and traditions, Karpathos is situated between Crete and Rhodes in the Karpathian sea and is the second largest land mass in the Dodecanese after Rhodes. Reachable though direct flights from Athens, Rhodes and several European cities and via ferries, as well as private charter flights, Karpathos is at the same time like no other island in Greece and an island that brings many aspects of the best part of Greece into reality—without the crowds.

The beaches of Karpathos are among the best in the world, crystal clear with everything from soft, golden or volcanic sand to tiny pebble beaches to peaceful coves carved in between dramatic cliffs to wind-swept waters that create conditions for world class wind and classic surfing. The vibrant scenery around each beach is as varied as the colors of blue that change with each hour of the day or viewpoint.

The vistas and country sides of Karpathos are peerless. Mountains, including Lastos (1215 m. high and the highest point in the Dodecanese), steep dingles, dashing streams and deep caves, with stalactites, adorn the island and pine trees of all kinds, deep valleys, farming and undeveloped fields, iconic chapels and archeological sites, unearthing ancient ruins and civilizations, dot the landscape.

Beyond its natural and awe-inspiring beauty, the villages of Karpathos still retain their traditional character. Architecture, folklore, food, music and other elements of the unique Karpathian identity come alive. Local traditional products are standard fare, including grapes, high quality wine, oil, honey, citrus fruits and other produce and cheeses. Daily catches of fish are as common as the waves that crash on shores.

Karpathos is paradise, wild, pure, off the beaten track, waiting for you to discover.
